You can learn a great deal about hypnosis from books, courses, videos and now AI. At some point, more information stops helping.
You have to work with people, notice when someone doesn’t respond the way you expected, and decide without a script. Sometimes you need an experienced practitioner to show you what you couldn’t see for yourself.
That is why practice starts in the first fortnight of the Diploma, and why JHA doesn’t end when your certificate arrives.
Twelve four-hour lessons, live on Zoom, every fortnight for six months. You learn to structure and deliver sessions for anxiety, habits, weight and chronic pain, with ethics, contraindications and building a practice alongside.
You can begin with no previous experience. The aim is that you finish able to sit down with a real client and know how to begin helping.
Explore the DiplomaOnce you start working with clients, different questions appear. What do I do when this happens? Why did that session stall? Am I talking too much? What am I missing? How would somebody more experienced approach this?
Those questions are difficult to answer alone. That is what the Academy is for.
Work with other practitioners while people observe, then compare what everybody noticed. Some months one session becomes a Business Runway: the same deliberate practice, applied to building your business.
Bring the difficult case. The session that did not go as planned. The client you are unsure how to help. Or the professional problem you have been avoiding. You do not have to pretend everything is going brilliantly here.
One subject at a time, explored properly. Not another pile of material to get through, but something you can put to work.
A small group of practitioners you meet with for a season, like an accountability group. They get to know you and your work, they know what you’re trying to improve, and they notice when you stop turning up.
There is a substantial archive of training too. Use it the way a professional uses a reference library: when you need it.
Many members qualified elsewhere, some of them years ago, and some teach hypnosis themselves. What they share is wanting somewhere to keep practising.

Freddy began practising hypnotherapy in 1994 and has since worked with more than 30,000 clients. He developed many of the approaches taught within JHA and is the author of Hypnotherapy: Methods, Techniques and Philosophies. More than thirty years on, he still practises and still teaches every Diploma cohort.
Anthony has worked professionally with hypnosis since 2001 and has conducted more than 7,000 therapy sessions. He is the author of Reality is Plastic! The Art of Impromptu Hypnosis and has taught internationally for more than twenty years. He runs Jacquin Hypnosis Academy, teaches every Diploma cohort, and leads much of the Academy’s ongoing professional development.
