Perhaps you’ve watched the videos and read the books. Perhaps you’ve wondered for a while whether you could actually do this, or whether it takes some gift you don’t have. It doesn’t. It takes practice, and the right people to practise with.
Sooner or later you have to sit opposite another human being and know what to do.
Not because you’ve memorised the right script. Not because you’ve watched somebody else do it.
Because you’ve practised.
We’ll teach you how hypnosis works and how to use it. Experience is something you only get by doing it. So from the first lesson you’ll hypnotise people, be hypnotised and work with different partners. You’ll find out what happens when it goes beautifully, and what to do when it doesn’t.

We want you to understand what you’re doing. To notice how the person in front of you is responding. To have ideas. To experiment. To adapt.
You can do all of that while being yourself. And eventually develop your own confident way of working.
Because when you’re sitting with a client, there isn’t a script that knows that person better than you do.
There is you. There is them. And there is what happens next.
We’ll teach you how to work with that moment.
By lesson 7 you’ll be running full sessions with real people.

You don’t need previous hypnosis experience. You don’t need to be a therapist. You don’t need to be naturally confident. And you certainly don’t need to have some mysterious hypnotic gift.
You do need to be willing to participate.
Because this isn’t spectator training. You’ll work with other people. You’ll practise. You’ll sometimes be the hypnotist. Sometimes the subject.
Sometimes you’ll get exactly the response you expected. Sometimes you won’t. Both are useful.
If what you want is a course you can quietly consume without interacting with anybody, this probably isn’t the right training for you.
If you want to learn to do hypnosis, welcome.
You won’t spend four hours watching slides. In each lesson we explain, we demonstrate, and then you do it, in pairs and small groups, with exercises that isolate one skill at a time. Then we come back together, look at what happened, and build on it.
The fortnight between lessons isn’t dead time. HypnoBuddy pairs you with another student to practise what you’ve just learned. HypnoCircle gives you different people and different responses. And because A Year of Practice is included from the day you register, you’re in the Academy’s live practice sessions while you train.
So you don’t qualify and then start practising. By the end of the Diploma you’ll have been doing it for months.
We don’t think graduation should mean: congratulations, here’s your certificate, good luck.
So from the day you register, you’ll also have twelve months’ membership of A Year of Practice, running alongside your training and continuing after it. That opens the door to the wider JHA practice community:
Two live sessions a month. Isolate one ability and sharpen it through doing.
Monthly. Room to look at what the work brings up in you: doubts, biases and blind spots.
Monthly. One client problem, explored properly.
A small group you meet with for a season, like an accountability group, to keep you practising and moving.
Deliberate practice applied to your business: getting visible, handling enquiries, building a practice.
The Diploma gets you qualified. The Academy helps you keep getting better.
After the twelve months, A Year of Practice continues at £770 a year, and graduates pay £597 for their first renewal. Nothing to decide now.
The Professional Hypnotherapy Diploma isn’t a course Freddy and Anthony created and handed over to somebody else to deliver. We teach it. Every lesson. Live.
Freddy began practising hypnotherapy in 1994 and has seen more than 30,000 clients. He is the author of Hypnotherapy: Methods, Techniques and Philosophies.
Anthony has worked full-time with hypnosis since 2001, has seen more than 7,000 clients and has taught internationally for over twenty years. He is the author of Reality is Plastic and Alter Your Experience.

The hypnosis is only the middle of a session. We teach the whole interaction: how to listen, understand what someone is asking for, explain hypnosis, conduct a complete session, handle the unexpected, and work professionally and ethically.
Finding clients is a different skill, and you need both. Through the Academy’s Business Runways you practise getting visible, handling enquiries and discovery conversations, and building a practice that fits the hypnotherapist you want to be.
